The cause

Love2Run exists to fund the work of the Paul Lavelle Foundation.

Paul's story

Paul Lavelle lost his life to domestic abuse in May 2017. In his memory, around fifty friends came together to create The Paul Lavelle Foundation.

What began with a group of friends determined to make a difference is now a place where men experiencing domestic abuse can find support and begin to rebuild their lives.

What your entry funds

The charity supports male victims and survivors of domestic abuse, and works to prevent abuse before it starts. That means:

  • One-to-one support with therapeutic advisors, face to face, by video or over the phone.
  • Peer support groups and help getting legal advice.
  • Healthy relationship education in schools, colleges and workplaces.
  • Weekly activity groups across the Wirral — cycling, running, swimming and walking — where people can talk openly.

Why a race

The foundation has always used sport to bring people together. The activity groups came first, and Love2Run grew out of them. A start line is a good place to stand next to someone and get talking.

Need support?

If you are affected by anything on this page, the foundation's support line is 0151 651 3777, open Monday to Thursday, 09:00 to 17:00. It is not a crisis line.
